BRIGHT LIGHTS INTERNSHIPS
The Bright Lights Internship at Shine Bright Performing Arts offers passionate high school and college-aged students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in theatre production. Interns will play a key role in bringing our children’s productions to life while developing leadership, technical, and creative skills.
Education Internships
An education internship at Shine Bright Performing Arts offers passionate high school and college-aged students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in theatre education. Interns will play a key role in bringing our summer camps and/or school year education offerings to life while developing leadership and creative skills.
This internship is ideal for students interested in working with young performers in a performing arts capacity. Interns will work closely with teaching artists, assisting with the camp or class day.
Intern Responsibilities:
Camp/Class Operations Support
Assist teaching artists in running the camp/class day by modeling appropriate rehearsal/classroom behavior, helping students maintain focus, and providing additional classroom support.
Assist with warm-ups and basic blocking or choreography review.
Assist with check-in/out procedures and maintaining a safe environment for all.
Leadership & Mentorship
Serve as positive role models for campers.
Encourage and support campers during rehearsals and Shareformances.
Assist in organizing cast bonding activities and warm-ups.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school or college students with a strong interest in theatre, production, or working with children.
Responsible, punctual, and able to follow directions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Prior theatre experience is preferred, but not required. However, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are most important!
Time Commitment & Expectations:
Interns should be available for the entire camp or class week they are contracted for:
Must attend an orientation and training session before beginning.
Commit to working collaboratively, professionally, and enthusiastically as part of the education team.
While this is a voluntary internship opportunity, it provides valuable resume-building experience and volunteer hour requirements.
