Frequently Asked Questions

  • What age does my child have to be to participate in SBPA programs?

Each offering has a different age range, but in general, our experiences are for school aged youth in Grades K-12.

My child is very shy, but enjoys musicals. Do you think they would enjoy class or a production?

We encourage everyone to try at least once! It is okay if students are shy, there is a part to play for everyone! Theatre is a great way to build confidence in yourself and your abilities! Students will gain valuable skills such as collaboration, creativity, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

  • What will a typical class or rehearsal day look like for my child?

Every day at might be a little different, but as a general rule, we will start each offering with warm ups (physical, vocal, imagination), then move into a variety of different activities depending on the experience. A musical rehearsal will spend large portions of the day learning music and choreography, while an weekly class may have more time spent on reading scripts and working on building theatre skills. All experiences have short breaks throughout the day and quick access to a bathroom and water fountain. There will be time for theatre games and bonding with other students.

Do you provide meals? Is there a microwave and refrigerator available?

We do not provide meals, so please plan to pack a snack and water bottle each day. We do not have refrigerators or microwaves available for students, so please plan to pack items that do not require those appliances.

What should my child wear to rehearsal or class?

Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing and closed-toe shoes! Open toed shoes or sandals are not permitted.

What should my child bring each day?

Students should bring a snack and a full water bottle with their name on it. They may bring a script or dance shoes, depending on the experience. That’s it! Please do not bring any personal items such as toys or electronics.

Can I observe during class or rehearsals?

For the safety and focus of our students, we maintain a closed-door policy. If you have any concerns or need to contact your child during camp hours, please reach out to our Education Coordinator at admin@shinebrightperformingarts.com. A phone number will be provided the week of your child’s experience.

  • How do I register my child?

You can register online through our website www.shinebrightperformingarts.com. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged!

    Do you allow refunds?

We offer refunds, minus a processing fee, until 30 days before an experience begins. At that time we no longer allow any refunds. We also do not offer refunds for missed days, including for illness or scheduling conflicts. In the case of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, we will notify families of refund or credit options.

Do you offer financial aid or sibling discounts?

At this time we do not offer any sibling discounts.

Payment plans are available for most experiences, and homeschool scholarship programs are accepted.

At Shine Bright Performing Arts, no student will be turned away due to financial need. If you'd like to request financial assistance, please contact our Director of Education at amanda@shinebrightperformingarts.com.

  • What if my child has an allergy or medical condition?

All are welcome in our program! In order for us to be informed, train our staff, and be prepared to best meet your child’s needs, please inform us during registration of any allergies or medical conditions.

What if my child needs to take medication during an experience?

Medications must be given to our staff with written instructions. We cannot administer medication, but we can remind students to take it as needed. If your child carries an EpiPen or other emergency medication, please provide it to staff upon arrival with clear instructions.
