Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS

Fall 2025 Production Workshop

For students in Grades 1–5

Registration opens July 1, 2025!

About the Show

The jungle is jumpin' with a jazzy beat in Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS. Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, Disney's The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie.

Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin' musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.

What is a Production Workshop?

A production workshop is a staged performance that focuses on the learning process just as much as the final product. While students still perform a full show, the emphasis is on building foundational skills, exploring character and storytelling, and working together as an ensemble, rather than on the technical elements.

Unlike a fully produced theatrical production, a workshop typically uses simplified technical elements (like minimal sets, basic lighting, and some costume elements) to keep the focus on performance development. It's a supportive and creative environment where students can grow, take risks, and celebrate their progress in front of a live audience.

About the Experience

This is a fully staged production workshop experience for elementary-aged students. While auditions help our team cast each role thoughtfully, everyone who enrolls will be cast in the show!

Rehearsals are structured, fun, and focused, and actors are expected to:

  • Attend all rehearsals they are called to

  • Arrive prepared and ready to work

  • Practice at home to memorize lines, lyrics, choreography, and blocking

Before auditions, you’ll receive a detailed rehearsal calendar showing what’s being rehearsed each day and who is called. Every rehearsal is different, and students may not be called every time!

Production Enrollment: $450 per student

A payment plan (a deposit plus a final payment due at the time of auditions) is available, and homeschool scholarship programs are accepted. If you have questions about payment plan options, please email our Director of Education at amanda@shinebrightperformingarts.com.

At Shine Bright Performing Arts, no student will be turned away due to financial need. If you'd like to request financial assistance, please contact our Director of Education at amanda@shinebrightperformingarts.com.

Audition Requirements

All enrolled students will be sent a link to sign up for an audition time on August 1. Each audition slot is 5 minutes in length. Students are asked to prepare the following:

  • A slate, which is a greeting used in auditions.

    • Example: Hello, my name is Jane, I’m 8 years old, and I will be singing Part of Your World.

  • 16-32 bars (roughly 30-60 seconds) of the song of their choice

  • Cold Reading: Students will read short scenes (“sides”) with a reader. If your child cannot read yet, no worries—they’ll be given another way to show their acting skills!
